Today was our last hours in Norway. So we had to say “adjø.” (This means goodbye in Norwegian.) I have learned to very much appreciate the country. To how they treat their people, to how the government runs, to their love of fish, to their simple living style! I have absolutely fallen in love with the country of Norway and I fully understand why my Papa was so proud of his Scandinavian roots.
Here’s some of my favorite things from Norway:
- Walking around Oslo and learning about how they work as a people.

- Going to the Circle of Life statue park, making up stories for each of the statues as I passed them.
- Walking down to a pool in the mountains and touching the REAL snow (nothing like that fake stuff from Dubai)

- Going to the Borgund Stave Church and seeing the amazing woodwork that inspired a carving my Papa made for us
- Meeting new people and distant relatives

- Trying new foods with my dad (such as whale beef!! So good!!)
- My dad eagerly asking me from the front seat, “Ellie!! Take a picture of me in front of the Davik sign!!” He was so excited, it reminded me of Papa

This part of our trip was absolutely so enjoyable. The weather was beautiful, as were the sites. I am so grateful for this opportunity to see the country that my Papa fell in love with. I have told myself, that I need to come back someday, so I can hike the mountains and explore the views for myself away from the road. I want to just enjoy the fresh air and enjoy the nature of Norway.
-Ellie 😊
P.S. Another absolute favorite of mine were the sheep!!!
